Having a poor kitchen design may not serve the purpose and can instead make cooking a frustrating activity. If proper solutions are incorporated in the kitchen designing or remodeling stage, it may minimize some of the common problems.

The followings are some of the common kitchen design problems and their probable solutions.

# Lack of storage space

Storage space is so important for any kitchen. It must be incorporated in design from the initial stage. For example, when buying kitchen cabinets, and other kitchen interior design accessories, make sure that you always keep the space issue in mind. If the countertop is small, it can make your worktop cluttered easily.

Cabinets need to be big enough and maximize on the use of space. Vertical and horizontal space need to be used properly. This is done when designing racks, cabinets, and trays.

# Lack of workflow

Most kitchens are poorly planned, sometimes big distance between refrigerator, the sinks and the oven. The stove may be very far from the rest of the kitchen and this makes work flow difficult.
To solve this, your kitchen layout needs to be the one that provide logical workflows that can allow you to work easily. In addition, you also need the spacious aisle to avoid unnecessary movements.

# Poor ventilation

If the ventilation system is not ok, a lot of greases and odors find way in the kitchen walls, furniture and may spread to the rest of the areas. This may be minimized by incorporate a high quality kitchen range hood with respect to the right position in order to achieve the optimum performance.

# Lack of proper lighting

Apart from the overall lighting system at the center, you may need to have additional light boxes at specific points such as cooking area and cabinet. Good lighting system in the kitchen makes work easier.

The kitchen is one place prone to fire hazard and caution should be taken. Common problem is that people do not put fire extinguisher in place. Fire blankets are also important in this case. If you can, you may install fire sensors to alert danger in case of fire outbreak.
